Hand sanitizer, an item that is being sold out at every markets, stores due to the outbreak of COVID-19. What are hand sanitizers made out of? A hand sanitizer is a liquid  or gel generally used to decrease infectious agents on the hands. It is generally more effective at killing microorganisms and better tolerated than soap and water. Hand sanitizers that are alcohol-based typically contain some combination of isopropyl alcohol, ethanol (ethyl alcohol), or n-propanol. While non-alcohol based version contain benzalkonium chloride or triclosan.
