The following photographs depict the technique of “Frame within a Frame”. A “Frame within a Frame” is a technique to accentuate the main image by focusing the main frame within another frame. In the photo above, my beloved companion (Dojin), is standing between the branches looking into the far-reaching ocean. He visited this island, known for its beautiful panorama and scuba diving sites, to alleviate himself from his stressful days in Korea, which at the moment is suffering from coronavirus. By utilizing “Frame within a Frame,” I effectively guide the viewer’s eye to the focus: The sunset, friends, and gifts. The world is suffering from a plague; Saipan’s economy is in danger (The number of Chinese tourists is diminished); political problems are rising. During these periods of hardship, we must not forget to appreciate.
