Odds and Peculiarities

Claude aquino

There is a preconceived notion with the word odd. Odd is, well, odd. It is weird, informal, and oftentimes off-putting and unorganized; however, when seen with deeper inspection, the peculiarity is not off-putting. In the photo above, many of the main objects show odds– like the papers, the plaques, and even the border of the board. When inspecting these things, there is a lack of oddity in the these objects. They do not look off, in fact, they look centered and, ironically, even. This composition piece is meant to show odd numbers of things, but it also shows how odds can look even. Without careful inspection, they look normal, in fact, they look organized and even numbered, but in reality it is just another odd and weird piece. With this composition we can admire the oddness and peculiarity of the world.
