In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, quarantined individuals in metropolitan areas all around the globe have looked out their windows and found that the skies have become clearer. The smog that once choked the hapless denizens of urban locales has diminished, and many urbanites have found that for the first time in years, they can see the night sky. What does this tell us about our world? Many politicians have dubbed Covid-19 as “the Invisible Enemy” but there exists another enemy, nominally invisible, yet one that is much more harmful to our civilization–and our planet.
