
A volley ball court. The sport of volley ball is played on a court that measures 29 feet, 6 inches wide, and 59 feet long. The sport of volley ball consists of 12 players, six players on each side. The players use their hands to volley the ball back and forth over a net, trying to make the ball touch the opponents’ ground before it can be returned. Additionally, a team is allowed to touch the ball only three times before it is returned over the net. The sport of volleyball was first played in 1895, by William G. Morgan from Holyoke, Massachusetts. As time gradually passed, volley ball was first introduced to the Olympics on 1964 at Japan.
