The star fruit is native to tropical Southeast Asia. It looks like a star with 5-6 ridges thus the name star fruit suits itself well. This fruit may cause health risks. They contain caramboxin and oxalic acid that are harmful to those suffering with kidney complications. They have dark green leaves and lavender to pink flowers.
