The modern capital of the Philippines, Manila, lies around 830 square miles within the island of Luzon. The fascinating capital is known for its diversity in regards to preserving traditional and adopting modern culture. For example, Manila is the proud location of the world’s oldest Chinatown and Spanish colonial structures. Furthermore, the Philippine government is currently working on the New Manila International Airport Project (NMIA), that aims to build “the largest and most ambitious” project in the country. The capital city of Manila is an interesting metropolis filled with both ancient and contemporary features.
