Light Pollution – Juxtaposition – EJP

Light pollution is a serious problem in modern society. However, it is largely ignored and barely considered. Light pollution is the use of artificial light in instances that are excessive. Large neon or LED lights, for example, take away natural darkness and waste energy every night they are kept on. The results of light pollution are usually ignored: the drowning of starlight, straining of eyes, and the obvious waste of energy. Unfortunately, light pollution is a cost of maintaining the modern world, and may not ever be solved.
